Africa Spiritual Day Unites Faith Leaders Around Family Values

On May 31, 2026, UPF’s IAPD Africa convened the 6th Africa Spiritual Day in Maputo, Mozambique, under the theme “Family Values: A Blueprint for Interfaith Cooperation.” More than 15,000 participants joined in person and online, bringing together Christian, Muslim, Bahá’í, Sufi, and traditional spiritual leaders from across Africa.

Distinguished speakers emphasized the role of family. And that the family is a foundational cornerstone for character development, peaceful communities, tribes, and stronger societies.

Through interfaith reflections, prayer, and dialogue, the event strengthened cooperation among faith leaders and reinforced the growing IAPD–African Union partnership, while setting the stage for additional Africa Spiritual Day programs across the continent.

The KWF RISE University graduates played an essential role in making this UPF Africa event a success by contributing their event planning skills, IT support, graphic design skills, and media assistance, enabling the programs run smoothly and reach a wider audience.
